Celebrating the Triduum with the new missal

Pastors, deacons, liturgy coordinators, worship commissions, and musicians are invited to a workshop to reflect on, understand, and implement the new missal for the central celebrations of our liturgical year. Three dates are available: Feb. 4, Feb. 11, or Feb. 18.

Bishops Condemn Health Care Mandate

Describing it is as a radical incursion into freedom of conscience, the Catholic bishops of the United States have vowed to fight a mandate from the federal government requiring all health care plans to provide contraception and sterilization coverage.

Archbishop Receives Planning Recommendations
|

The Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, a lay consultative body to Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron has provided their recommendations about pastoral plans submitted by parish planning groups. These groups were comprised of lay parish leaders who were selected by their pastors. These plans will now be reviewed and evaluated by the archbishop who will present his final pastoral plan for the Archdiocese of Detroit in early 2012.

Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus at DIA

See the Face of Jesus through the eyes of the Dutch painter, Rembrandt van Rijn at the Detroit Institute of Arts this winter. More than 60 paintings, prints and drawings show Rembrandt's representation of Jesus. Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus runs through Feb. 12.
